    2011 Stacked Spaces:

It is a two family house composed of stacked Interlocking volumes which expand and contract according to the demands of each family. Robustly constructed from insulating ceramic blocks and concrete, simply cross ventilated, its energetic performance is intricately linked to later gradual finishes on a micron scale.
Large spaces simply unfinished with rough materials will be gradually finished and tweaked as their real natures are discovered through living. On the exterior, windows are laid on rather than in, the plaster applied to reveal rather than hide the ceramic beneath.
The houses contain an architect, a curator a sculptor and an artist who have worked together layering their skills.  Metalwork, furniture, partitions and artworks are constructed personally by them and intertwined with the spatial volumes.
So the stacking and layering continues......
