The work of Univ. Prof. Michelle Howard ranges from material research and concept realisation to consultation on large public art projects, with a focus on Architecture. An investigation into the veracity of accepted truths in technology and of the potentials of materials and construction techniques, often imported from fields outside of architecture are the foundations for every project. It is informed by a clear understanding of construction technologies and material characteristics, garnered through two decades of experience with internationally renowned Architectural offices on seminal projects; see collaborations. Through her own projects & research, her teaching which emphasises the full scale experiment & as a consultant in concept realisation she is constantly exposed to & indeed sometimes initiates the newest developments in the field of architectural technology and material research. |
